The Valley of SolaceAah, nature, the peace and quiet of being alone out in the wilderness, something that unites most of us with an interest in our wonderful world, filling us with the urge to get out in it. The granites of Yosemite National Park are sitting proud over the Merced River at Dawn in this shot entered into the Smithsonian Institution’s and Nature’s Best Photography magazine’s competition entitled ‘Wilderness Forever’, currently on exhibition at the Museum of Natural history in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the US Wilderness Act. The only condition set was that the entry had to be snapped in a protected wilderness area. The serenity that oozes out of this shot expresses well my feelings whenever I manage to escape out of the (admittedly small) city in which I live overlooking the Rio de la Plata.LozImage credit: William Patino/Nature’s Best Photographyhttp://www.naturesbestphotography.com/wilderness.phphttp://wilderness.smithsonian.com/vote/vote-180952419/
